Ionian University

The Ionian University was founded in 1984 in Greece and it is comprised of five faculties and twelve departments. Its seat is in Corfu, with university units in Lefkada, Kefalonia and Zakynthos. The University aims to contribute to the revival and cultivation of the local intellectual heritage, a heritage partly deriving from the cultural impact of the long-lasting European occupations. It aspires to play a significant academic role as one of the Greek Higher Education Institutions through its educational, scientific and intellectual activities.

The fourteenth - Faculty of Agriculture has recently been founded and it is expected to enroll the first generation of students in the academic year 2018/2019.

Fondazione Fenice has created Green Energy Park, an embryo of the smart city located in a very particular peri-urban area, on the border between the city center and the 1400 companies located in the Industrial Zone: the island of TERRANEGRA. The Green Energy Park is a research and training center aimed at social, environmental, energy, and digital issues of the Green Economy.
