Before the result of DIN-ECO Hackathon 2023 on December 19th, CEO and founder Emanuele Borasio took the stage, presenting weAR’s groundbreaking XR technology. 

There are a lot of differences between virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR). VR immerses users in a digital environment, AR overlays digital information onto the physical world, and MR blends the two.  

This captivating introduction immediately grabbed the audience’s attention. Borasio went on to discuss the significance of Industry 4.0, emphasizing the crucial role of XR in optimizing industrial processes, enhancing training, and augmenting human-machine interactions. He showcased weAR’s innovative XR solutions, including MARKO, a codeless authoring tool for creating and sharing user manuals through augmented reality on real assets, and digital twins, virtual replicas of industrial plants, assembly lines, standalone products, or entire infrastructures. These digital twins facilitate enhanced asset management, streamlined training, and predictive maintenance. 

Borasio concluded his presentation by painting an optimistic outlook for the future of XR in the industrial realm. He envisioned a future where XR becomes an integral part of every industrial process, revolutionizing productivity, efficiency, and safety.
