DIN-ECO Digital Hackathon took place on 16 December 2022 and named three winning teams.
The Jury has selected the winners of DIN-ECO’s first Digital Hackathon, an event held on 16 December. The Hackathon brought about 27 finalists from Denmark, Greece, Italy, Poland, Serbia and Turkey that were distinguished in the Innovation Competition held earlier this month.
Representatives of Ionian University (coordinator of DIN-ECO) and Found.ation (Innovation management consulting & hackathon coordinator) opened the event by explaining the concept, the process and the prizes.
The Digital Hackathon challenged participants to come up with innovative ideas in the thematic areas of:
- Digital Technologies
- Digital Health
Specifically, the students pitched their ideas to experts (judges) appointed by the DIN-ECO Higher Education Institutes (HEIs). Three of them were named winners in each of the above categories.
Winning Team: “Microplastic Analyzer and Locator for Automatic Collection at Sea”, promoted by four students from Aalborg University (Denmark) among fourteen other teams.
Winning Team: “Improving the 3D design of plate implants by implementing SubD surfaces”, promoted by four students from the University of Nis (Serbia) among five other teams.
Winning Team: “Multi-metallic material manufactured through Laser-Powder Bed Fusion technology: how and why?”, promoted by a student from the University of Parma (Italy) among eight other teams.
Winners will become part of the DIN-ECO community, gaining access to business networks & resources, specialized services, training and access to finance activities.
